ESG collection across your value chain

Your follow-ups go unanswered. You’re asking for too much.

Oakbon calibrates your request against the list the European regulation will make mandatory in 2027. Each supplier receives the scope that applies to them, and you get back answers that are comparable with one another.

What a poorly scoped campaign costs

You’ve sent three follow-ups, and you’re still waiting.

You have to report the emissions and social indicators of your value chain. Your suppliers hold the data, and nothing prepares them to hand it over.

Your follow-ups go unanswered

The supplier receives a two-hundred-row spreadsheet they don’t understand, with no idea what’s mandatory. They put it off, then forget about it.

Every answer arrives in its own format

Thirty suppliers, thirty spreadsheets, thirty units of measurement. Reprocessing costs you more time than the collection itself.

You’re asking for more than will be required

For financial years opening from 2027, a supplier with 1,000 employees or fewer will be able to issue a written refusal for anything beyond the list. A campaign calibrated on the old model will bring back refusals, not data.

How it works

Three steps, and your data comes in.

01

You declare each supplier’s profile

Headcount and activity. It’s the headcount that determines the required scope, shorter below 10 employees than above.

02

Oakbon sends each one the request that applies to them

A one-time link, no account required, with only the questions this supplier will be required to answer. Each question carries the reference to the paragraph it comes from.

03

You get back answers in the same format

Answers arrive structured and comparable from one supplier to the next. Whatever’s missing gets a follow-up without rebuilding the request.

Year after year

Next year’s campaign picks up from this one.

Your suppliers answer once. You track their trajectory from there.

A history for each supplier

You see what they reported last year, and the gap with this year. A variance gets explained instead of discovered.

Targets by site and for the group

Each site tracks its own dated target, and the group sees the consolidated target in a dedicated report.

A reference trajectory

Your curves are compared against the SBTi’s 1.5°C pathway, around 4.2% reduction per year, rather than against an arbitrary target.

The regulation, and its deadline

What you’ll be able to ask for, and from when.

The value chain cap is set by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1560 of 3 July 2026, which gives binding force to the voluntary sustainability reporting standard for SMEs, known as VSME. It was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 21 September 2026, and its Article 3, the one that sets the cap, will apply to financial years opening from 1 January 2027.

On your side, the Omnibus directive adopted in February 2026 raises the CSRD thresholds to 1,000 employees and €450 million in revenue. These thresholds will apply in France once it is transposed, expected by March 2027.

Supplier headcountWhat will be requiredWhat it changes for you
10 employees or fewerA shorter scopeSeveral environmental data points become voluntary here, no point asking for them
More than 10 employeesThe full scopeThe data points the standard classifies as necessary, in its basic module
More than 1,000 employeesThe cap doesn’t applyYour supplier is subject to its own disclosure obligations

The cap only covers the data points the standard classifies as “necessary”, listed in its Annex II. A “voluntary” data point can be requested, but it cannot be required. The other half of the picture

Your own emissions, consolidated.

Collecting from your suppliers doesn’t replace your own footprint. Both live in the same Oakbon account.

Carbon footprint

Your subsidiaries and sites in one group report

Each company calculates its footprint from its accounting data, and the group gets a consolidated footprint plus a dedicated report.

ESG Module

Your suppliers prepare their own file independently

A supplier with 1,000 employees or fewer can subscribe to the ESG module themselves and hand you their attestation, without you having to carry their data entry.

Frequently asked questions

Before you open a campaign.

Why limit what I ask my suppliers?

Because a well-calibrated request comes back filled in. For financial years opening from 1 January 2027, Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1560 will limit what a company subject to the CSRD can require from a supplier of no more than 1,000 employees to a closed list. A campaign that goes beyond this list will produce reasoned refusals instead of data.

Is this cap already in force?

Not yet. Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1560 of 3 July 2026 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 21 September 2026, but its Article 3, the one that sets the cap, will only apply to financial years opening from 1 January 2027.

Do my suppliers need to create an Oakbon account?

No. Each supplier answers via a one-time link, with no account to create. If they’d rather prepare their own file and hand you an attestation, they can subscribe to Oakbon’s ESG module on their own, from €29 excl. VAT per month, with no commitment.

Am I affected by the CSRD?

The Omnibus directive, adopted in February 2026, raises the CSRD thresholds to 1,000 employees and €450 million in revenue. These thresholds will apply in France once it is transposed, expected by March 2027. France’s own greenhouse gas emissions reporting obligation, meanwhile, already applies above 500 employees, under Article L229-25 of the French Environmental Code.
