ESG consultancies, engineering firms, independent consultants
You already know how. Stop doing it by hand.
Your expertise sells. Reworking spreadsheets does not. Oakbon produces the calculation and the deliverable inside one file per client, and keeps open everything that comes after the report. Your engagements stop being one-offs.
What it costs you
Your margin turns on hours nobody pays you for.
The price of your engagement is fixed. The time you spend on it decides what it earns you.
You sell a fixed fee. The time you spend is anything but fixed. A collection workbook to send out, two reminders, energy invoices arriving in disorder, factors to track down, a report to lay out in the client’s colours. Your analysis sits in the last few pages, and it cost a quarter of the time spent.
The spreadsheet you built held up for your first clients. Past a certain number of files it is no longer auditable, correcting one factor means reopening every file, and you cannot hand it to anyone without explaining it all again.
So you hit the real ceiling of your business: the number of engagements you can run in parallel. Hiring does not lift it, since delivery cannot be delegated.
What makes the difference
The report does not end the engagement. It opens the next one.
A footprint delivered, invoiced, filed away, and you have to find a client again next year. That is the model produced by tools that stop at the document. Oakbon keeps open everything that comes after the figure, and each of those is an engagement you sell on a file that is already open.
The action plan
Your client’s emission categories ranked by weight, with costed reduction actions. It is the document they really expect, and it is yours to defend.
The transition plan
Their reduction targets formalised under article L229-25 of the French environment code, with the associated means and actions.
The base year and the trajectory
A base year handled under the GHG Protocol policy, and the annual comparison that brings you back to your client every financial year.
Obligations tracking
Their position against the thresholds of BEGES, CSRD, CBAM and VSME. Enough to open the conversation before they have it forced on them.
Consolidation
A client with several companies gets the footprint of each one, the consolidated footprint and a group report. Those are the best paid engagements.
A report is invoiced once. An ongoing engagement is invoiced every year.
Your client relationship
The file is yours, and so is the delivery.
What the market mostly offers you is to hand your clients to a third party that delivers in your place. You gain convenience, you lose control of the output, the timetable and part of the margin.
Here, you open the file, you deliver, you sign it with your own name. Your staff work on it at no additional cost, with distinct rights: a junior builds the files, you validate and you interpret. You raise your capacity without hiring and without taking the client relationship out of your firm.
No limits inside a file
Unlimited subsidiaries and sites, consolidated footprint, group report, commuting survey. What you declare for a client never depends on the size of your own structure.
The method stays under your control
You set the scope, you settle the assumptions, you decide what enters the footprint. The factors come from the ADEME Base Empreinte and their version is written into the report, which lets you retrace the path and defend the figure in front of a client.

Your margin
The same deliverable, the same price, fewer hours on it.
Your quote does not change. What changes is what is left once the engagement is delivered, and the number of engagements you run in the same year.
You are billed per file, never per member of staff nor by the hour. Your tooling cost is known in advance and enters your quote as a fixed line.
Confidentiality, on your side
Your client’s accounts never leave their browser.
Many of your prospects hesitate to let their general ledger out, and hesitation delays the signature. The file is read locally, the calculation runs on the machine, and our servers only receive totals per emission category. Not the entries, not the amounts, not the names of your client’s suppliers.
That is one objection fewer in your meetings, and a sentence you can lift as it is into your proposal.
Hosted by OVH in France · AES-256-GCM encryption with a key of its own for each file · three-level isolation.
Price transparency
You pay per client file, not per member of staff.
The billable unit is simple, and we would rather you read it before signing.
Counts
One unit per client file
Every client you open in the portal is one billable unit.
Counts
One unit per subsidiary
Each additional legal entity declared inside a file counts as one unit.
Does not count
A site
A client with three establishments and a single company stays at one unit.
Your staff are unlimited. Report volume is negotiated with the size of your portfolio.
White-label option (on quote)
The deliverable you hand over carries your firm’s identity. This option is added to the Cabinet plan and is quoted separately.
Frequently asked questions
What consultants ask us.
What becomes of my added value if the tool does the calculation?
The calculation was never what your client buys. They buy knowing what to do with the figure: which categories to tackle, at what cost, in what order, and how to hold the result in front of their own client or their banker. What gets invoiced is the interpretation, the action plan and the relationship you keep with them, and no software produces those. The calculation is the compulsory step before that conversation. Producing it faster gives you back time for the conversation itself.
I already sell this service. Why change?
Your offer does not change. What changes is the number of engagements you run in parallel, what each one leaves you, and the fact that the client comes back the following year for what follows rather than for another isolated footprint.
Will my clients see that I use a tool?
The white-label option puts your firm’s identity on the deliverable. It is quoted separately.
Do I keep control of the method?
Yes. You set the scope, you settle the assumptions, you decide what enters the footprint and what does not. The factors are those of the ADEME Base Empreinte, with their version written into the report, which makes the calculation reproducible and defensible.
Do I have to hire or train someone?
No. Users are unlimited and do not enter the billing, so an existing member of staff can build the files. The journey requires no prior carbon expertise to deliver, only to interpret, and that is you.
Can I measure my own structure’s footprint?
The Cabinet plan is made for your clients’ files. For your own firm’s footprint, open an Essentiel account at 69 € excl. VAT per month.
My clients do not know what an FEC is.
Their accountant produces it, and they only have to ask. Any accounting export in CSV or Excel works too.
How long does it take to get to grips with the tool?
The first file is produced right after opening the account. There is no configuration and no installation.
