Why Oakbon
exists.
Every year, thousands of French SMEs receive carbon data requests from their key account clients. The CSRD directive requires these large clients to report the Scope 3 emissions of their value chain, and that obligation flows straight down to their suppliers.
Oakbon was born from that observation: measuring your emissions shouldn’t require a consultant, six months of work and a dedicated CSR budget. An SME’s accounting already contains most of the data needed for a Scope 3 carbon footprint. All that was missing was a tool able to read it and translate it automatically into emissions.

Legacy carbon reporting tools were built for organizations with a dedicated CSR team: complex platforms, heavy integrations, pricing running into thousands of euros a month. These solutions serve mid-sized companies and large accounts well, but they are overkill for a business that receives a carbon questionnaire from a client without a CSR department of its own.
Oakbon fills that gap. By connecting directly to your accounting and to the official emission factors of the ADEME Base Carbone, Oakbon removes the complexity without sacrificing methodological rigor. The result: a Scope 3 report aligned with the GHG Protocol and ESRS standards, ready to send to your client, in under two hours.
The idea for Oakbon came from a simple observation: industrial subcontractor SMEs are receiving more and more carbon data requests from their clients (Stellantis, Renault, Valeo, Airbus, Danone), but no tool on the market is built for their scale.
Large accounts have dedicated CSR teams and substantial budgets. Their suppliers, often SMEs, have an owner-manager, a CFO, and two weeks to respond. Oakbon exists for them, whatever their size.
Data security sits at the heart of Oakbon’s architecture. Accounting data is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, isolated per company, processed in memory only, and hosted in France with OVH. No data leaves the European Union. The product is built to OWASP standards and with GDPR compliance principles by design.
